Happy 2009

I have a knitted finished object that I will be wearing for the first time tonight, New Year’s Eve. I started working on it back in October 2007, if you can believe it. It involved a lot of chart reading and I left it for a while. I finished it before my birthday (November 14 2008) but did not sew it together until just now. I’m quite excited about it.
Pictures to come soon!

Merry Christmas and Happy 2009!

I’m off to Ottawa for Christmas, I’m just going for a couple of days, so I’ll be back for New Year’s with all the information of what’s happening in and around Toronto.
I don’t quite “celebrate” Christmas, but I like saying “Merry Christmas” and not “Happy Holidays”, I don’t get offended or anything, even if I don’t celebrate it.
So there you go…. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Too good to be true

Hell is not freezing over after all. Digging deeper into my new BlackBerry Smart 30 Bundle from Bell Mobility, I see the catch: it is only 500MB of Internet and email, and not unlimited as it was before. If I wanted the unlimited I would be paying $15 more, exactly the same price I was paying before.
I checked my two past bills and I have only used 31MB and 18MB each month. I may be able to survive with a max of 500MB and save the $15 each month. If for any reason I start going over it, I’ll switch back.
We’ll see how it goes.

Well hell must be freezing over

Last week I got an email from Bell Mobility indicating that my BlackBerry internet+browser “bundle” and my text messaging+voice mail “bundle” had been canceled. I had not requested any cancellations and based on the reputation of telecom companies in Canada I did not want to risk being charged for text messaging or internet browsing on my cellphone when they very well can be paid with the subscription. I called and got very good customer service on the phone asking me if I had gone to a store to cancel something, I said no, so they said the service would be resumed as it was 2 days before. I was assured of it.
Today I got my cellphone bill, and it was $15 cheaper than usual. Upon further inspection, I saw that they had restored the BlackBerry “bundle”, but not the text messaging bundle. I decided to go to the Bell World store in Cumberland Terrace and sort it out personally, since apparently the person on the phone had just restored one of my services. I didn’t want to be surprised at the end of next month and be charged “per message” or something like that.
Well, the person in the Bell World store told me that indeed, my service had been restored, including the text messaging and voicemail and that it was now cheaper. Apparently it is now combined with the BlackBerry bundle so I don’t have to pay the extra $15 for it. I wondered if the person who sold me the cellphone had not told me about that possibility, but no, apparently it is a new initiative.
So let me repeat it, hell must be freezing over, because Bell Mobility just lowered their prices (not that I’m complaining or anything).
Good for Bell!
