We stopped at the Chapters store in Peterborough during the weekend. In the store Kate Story was signing her book, Blasted. It was on sale from $21.95 to $19.95. I thought it may be interesting so I bought it.

I started reading it and so far it looks promising. It’s the story of a girl who is originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland and that lives in Toronto. We have had some flashbacks to her childhood, where she swears she saw (the ghost?) of a native Indian from Newfoundland. The story reads well and is interesting. So far I think the writing could be a little bit more witty to make it funny, but it is nonetheless interesting and well-written.

I’ll keep reading and will report more on the book later on.
