My BlackBerry
Almost 2 years ago I decided to upgrade to a Smartphone, I only had a prepaid phone with Solo Mobile and thought it was time to finally have a plan. Meanwhile, I cancelled my landline service.
I decided to go with Bell Mobility, I got a BlackBerry Pearl 8130 in red. I loved having a BlackBerry and having access to email and the Internet anywhere I go with my phone. The GPS and maps capability is also really cool.
After less than a year I started my new job where I got a BlackBerry Curve 8900, I now carry two BlackBerrys, my personal one and the one I use for work. With this work phone I was able to connect to WiFi from my house or other places and also have access to something called UMA, being able to make voice calls through your WiFi. I’m lucky I live in a place with good cellphone reception, because UMA access from my BlackBerry has just been discontinued by my provider. Something that we used to have because the technology comes with the phone now costs $10 or $15 extra. I am going to miss it a bit, but those people with no cellphone reception that were relying on WiFi for voicecalls are really screwed.
